Symphony Lane Water Main Replacement Project

Update as of Tuesday, August 29 -

This project remains on schedule. The new water main has been installed and has been pressure-tested. The water main has had bacteriological samples taken and they have come back clean. Our contractor will begin to replace water services from the new main to the curb stops the week of August 28. Final pavement restoration will follow.

Project Background

Beginning the week of August 7th, we will be replacing the 6" cast iron water main in the Symphony Lane right-of-way in Whitpain Township with a new 8" ductile iron water main. New water services and a fire hydrant will also be installed. This important work will improve the reliability and hydraulics of our distribution system.

The Authority's contractor for this project is Passerini and Sons, Inc. Work will be done Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Streets will be open to local traffic, emergency vehciles, mail delivery and school buses; however, as with all construction projects, some delays may be encountered while vehicles are flagged around the work zone. Please drive safety in the work area to protect the workers.

Water service will not be interrupted during the project except for a period of about one hour near the end when individual water services are installed. We will notify you in advance, once that work has been scheduled. We will work with Passerini and Sons, Inc. to keep any inconveniences to a minimum.
