Water Rates Will Be Adjusted Effective 1/1/2025

An unfortunate result of never-ending increases in State and Federal regulations, and annual increases in materials and supplies needed to ensure the delivery of a safe and clean water supply, is the need for adjustments to our water and sewer rates from time to time.

Starting with the first billing cycle of 2025, the NWWA water and sewer rates will be adjusted. The minimum base (or meter) rate will be adjusted to $20.63 per quarter, with the water consumption rate set at $6.19 per 1,000 gallons of use for all customers, except Warrington Township customers. Per the terms of the 2019 Water System Purchase Agreement, Warrington township customers will not see a change in their water consumption rate until September 2025, at which point it will align with the rate for all other customers.

To an average residential water customer, the 2025 rate increase will cost about 30 cents per day. Nonresidential rates will also increase similarly and will continue to be billed with a base rate according to actual meter size. Details on our water rates for each customer category and meter size can be found in the chart below.

Notwithstanding the above, all NWWA water customers will continue to enjoy safe and clean water delivered daily, at one of the lowest, if not the lowest rates in our entire region.

DETAILS OF THE RATE INCREASE:

  • Minimum base (or meter) rates will be adjusted to $6.88 per month or $20.63 per quarter for all customers.
  • The water consumption rate will increase to $6.19 per 1,000 gallons of use for all customers other than those in Warrington Township. Due to the Warrington Township Water Purchase Agreement terms, the water consumption rate for Warrington Township customers will remain at $3.96 per 1,000 gallons of water used.
  • The sewer rate has been adjusted to $27.70 for the first 2,000 gallons of usage, with an additional charge of $16.29 per 1,000 gallons thereafter for customers receiving sewer service from NWWA.
